Most of a forest
happens underground.

Your mind works the same way. Most of what shapes your choices runs underneath, and you can grow something new down there.

It just has to keep growing.

A few words worth getting to know.

FIG. 02 — SPORE PRINT
In one line

Your brain can change, at any age.

A bit more

It's your brain's ability to adapt through experience, learning and practice, throughout your life. Connections in the brain strengthen and reorganise as you learn new ways of thinking and responding.

LIKE A TRAIL — WALKED OFTEN, IT WIDENS. LEFT ALONE, IT GROWS OVER.

FIG. 02 — SOIL, ROOTS
In one line

The part of your mind that runs things without asking you.

A bit more

It holds the beliefs and automatic reactions you learned so early or repeated so often that they stopped feeling like choices. Most of the time it's helpful. Sometimes it's still running an old instruction.

LIKE ROOTS — OUT OF SIGHT, DOING MOST OF THE WORK.

FIG. 02 — WOVEN FIBRE
In one line

A reaction you've repeated so many times it feels like your personality.

A bit more

Going quiet. Saying yes when you mean no. Expecting the worst. It isn't who you are. It's a pathway that got used a lot.

LIKE A WEAVE — MADE ONE THREAD AT A TIME, AND IT CAN BE REWOVEN.

Subconscious freedom work.

It's less like fixing something broken and more like tending something that's growing.

  1. 01 — Under

    Notice

We find the pattern, and the belief underneath it.

  2. 02 — Through

    Loosen

We bring it into the light. It stops running things.

  3. 03 — Up

    Practise

You rehearse a new response until it feels easy.

Portrait of Marlies VenierFIG. 05 — MARLIES VENIER

I'm Marlies. I'll be the one on the call.

My journey began in 2012, when I trained as a yoga teacher and health coach — and I've been learning, exploring, and doing the work in my own life ever since. Subconscious work has been the most meaningful part of it. It helped me understand the beliefs and patterns shaping my choices, meet the protective parts of myself with more compassion, and practise new ways of responding. Through it, I've found more ease, more joy, and a deeper trust in myself.

That experience is at the heart of why I coach. I feel especially drawn to supporting young women — there's so much to navigate in those years: relationships, expectations, comparison, the pressure to have life figured out. I want to offer a gentle place to pause, feel heard, and explore what you want for yourself. My hope is that our work together helps you recognise the patterns that keep you stuck, build trust in your own voice, and take steps towards a life that feels more like yours.

Start with a conversation.

You don't need to have it figured out first. Most people don't.

08 — LATER

A Settle In app is on the way, with meditations in Marlies's voice for the hours between conversations.

Room for a new way.
